Today the term is understood as a wetland and have a significant effect on global ecosystems. The world have 1,616 Ramsar accounted for about 1.455 million km2. In Vietnam, there are three Ramsar sites recognized by UNESCO. They are: Xuan Thuy Ramsar (Nam Dinh) is recognized in 1989 (the first in Southeast Asia), the Ramsar Lake Depth (Dong Nai), the Cat Tien National Park was recognized in 2005. And in June this year Ba Be lake is the No. 3 Ramsar recognition. Ba Be Ramsar Located in Ba Be National Park, Bac Can province, with many famous tourist attractions such as the Hang Doi, Na Phong grotto, Thẳm Kít grotto, Puông grotto. Ba Be National Park is home of many unique species and rare. 
Ba Be Lake area totaling 500 hectares, situated at an altitude of 178m above the sea. The depth of the lake from 17 - 29m. This is a natural lake only of Viet Nam, and a system of primary forest is protected as well. Ramsar Ba Be Lake is a lagoon ecosystems, lakes, soil, rocks, mountains and diverse ecosystems. This is also where rare species recorded Gibbon White Cheek living on the territory of Vietnam and Indochina.  
Before, Ba Be Lake is recognized as one of 20 most beautiful freshwater lake in the world and is recognized as ASEAN Heritage Park. Bàu Sấu Ramsar Located in the largest national parks of our country - Cat Tien (the three provinces of Binh Phuoc, Lam Dong, Dong Nai). Bau Sau on the territory of Dong Nai province, the second Ramsar sites in Vietnam and was recognized in 2005. 
Bau Sau Ramsar area totaling 13,759 ha, includes 151 ha of wetlands and 5,360 ha of seasonal wetlands. This really is a terrestrial paradise of Vietnam with the calm blue water and incredible. The meadows, fields after a trigger point for Bau dreamily seductive beauty.  

Xuân Thủy Ramsar Located in Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh, Xuan Thuy was recognized by UNESCO as the first Ramsar site in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. This is also a Ramsar site in 50 of the world in 1989. 
Xuan Thuy Ramsar area of 12,000 ha, located in the Red River estuary. This is where the amount of birds migration arge numbers in February, March. Especially in forests Xuan Thuy is inhabited by many species such as otters, sea cat, fox sea, fish, shrimp.   
Xuan Thuy is also recognized as a national park in 2003, while the UNESCO considered the main center in the ecosystem and biosphere reserves of the Red River Delta. |
